Hello,Just purchased my first HF band saw, and I would like to replace the factory blade with a better quality one. What kind of blade do you recommend that I purchase, and where can I purchase them at?Thanks!

Reply:I usually get my blades from MSC or Enco. Grainger's or McMaster Carr would be another option, but they usually seem to be more expensive. Something makes me think the last blade I bought was a variable tooth 14/18 bimetal blade. Mostly I cut 1/4" and up on mine. Usually you want more teeth per inch if you are cutting thinner material, and less teeth per inch if you cut thicker..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:what size blade do you have, grizzly has 641/2"x1/2 bi metal (i think it will fit your saw) for $24.95i like 6-10 v.p. on my saw
Reply:i usually get 24tpi, seem to work pretty good for 1/8" 3/16" and 1/4" thick material.. little on the slower side but the blades seem to last forever, i cut alot of tubing and i also flip my saw up and use it as a vertical saw every now and then..Last edited by brucer; 09-04-2011 at 01:50 AM.tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/

Reply:I currently use a Northern Tool brand, but I'm a big fan of do-al.

iemaster II from Lennox. Available from airgas and fastenal. Lasts longer than others. In a pinch Ellis will do, though several I have bought haven't been welded exactly right so there as was a rise and fall and premature wear.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
